Wow--we just want to say Congrats to our son Kevin for making the JV high school soccer team. We are so proud of you and can not wait to see you play. Where did the years go by--it seems that we were just sending Kevin off to Kindergarten--now he is a Freshmen in High School. Wow...where have I been in blogland??? Well lots of things have been going down in the Waterman household lately. I started my own photography business with a working website--which Violet Althouse designed--check her website out at www.althousebusinesscommunications.com. I am praying that the Lord Blesses my photography business...please pray for me. Anyhow we just got home from the beach so I will let you enjoy some family photos. Our children are growing up so fast. Kevin starts high school, Hannah will be in 5th grade and our Sarah Jane is going to 2nd grade! Wow I remember when they were all in kindergarten. They have matured so very much. Craig and I so proud of them--and they all have different gifts and talents.

What a wonderful Full Moon!

I love to see a full moon. The other night my Aunt called and told me to look outside my window to see the beautiful full moon. I of course ran for the camera. I hope that you enjoy seeing God's creation at best. It amazes me to no wonder how everything is just the way God wanted it when He created things--the world is His big canvas. Looking at the moon that night made me stop and think "hmmm...no wonder I have been acting so crazy"...yes, instead of my children acting weird and wild--I must admit I have been. Oh well sometimes we have to just act crazy or life will stress you out. Sights like this seem to calm me down when I really stop and take time out of my day to just look in wonder.

Here is Mrs. SnowMan welcoming in a fresh coating of snow. The kids had a wonderful time playing in the first snowfall. The boys however had to shovel...but got in some fun with a snowball battle. I enjoyed the time inside by myself sipping on some hot chocolate and hidden cookies I had in my secret place so the kids would not eat all of them on me :)

Ahh...remember this great cartoon? Rocky & Bullwinkle. I loved watching this show! I also love this illustration--it brings back such good memories of my childhood. I am going to have to bake some cupcakes today with some cherry koolaide to go along with them...and sit back and relax in our "home sweet home". The kids will be excited to have cupcakes for a snack after school. I think I will make some black bottom cupcakes.

We had so much fun trick or treating this year. The girls went to many houses this year without Sarah Jane whining at all :) --this made me very happy. We did the home-made costumes this year...yeah I know I am cheap...but that is okay they are usually the best costumes when the children think them up themselves.. I like to consider my family is thrifty.

I made my annual big pumpkin and bat cookies again this year. The kids love to take them into school for their classroom Halloween parties. I love to make them too...I sneak a pinch of dough while I am rolling out the cookies. I made about 100 of them using 7 batches of dough! The recipe is really easy to make up.

Sugar Cookie Cutouts
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, at room temperature
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
colored sprinkles and multicolored sprinkles, for decorating
**In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. In a large bowl (I am lazy and use the kitchen aide mixer right away, instead of having to wash another bowl) beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, then the vanilla. On low speed, gradually beat in the flour mixture. Divide the dough into thirds, shape each piece into a disk, and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight. Preheat oven to 350F. On surface--roll out dough to 1/8 inch thick. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. (I use the pampered chef baking stones) Decorate with sprinkles. Bake 10 minutes, or until edges begin to brown. (12 minutes for baking stones). Cool cookies and eat alot of them :)

Since everyone's time is precious during the holidays--make the dough ahead and freeze for up to three months. My family loves these cookies and I hope that your family will enjoy them too! I also baked some for Kevin's soccer teammates and they all seemed to enjoy them--for they disappeared rather quickly.

I saw this video via facebook from Kevin's soccer coach--Coach Cartwright. This is an excellent reminder for all us parents--how to act on the sidelines. I hope that some parents see how silly they look--plus how they are embarrassing their son or daughter in front of their peers.

On another note:
Kevin's ankle is healing very nicely. He is in the air cast until this Friday. He can not wait to get back to playing soccer. Keep him in your prayers still for his ankle to heal fully. I look at this picture and I cannot believe that my son's sneaker size is a man's 10.5! Wow.

Enjoy--I love chocolate and I actually ate one of these today. I just needed that extra little kick. You know those days I am talking about!--where you need extra Reese's in the house--where the kids will not find them--or husbands for that matter :) Peanut butter and chocolate is a slice of heaven. We really had alot of fun at this tourney. We traveled to Columbus, Maryland and stayed at the Sheraton. Very nice hotel--would recommend to anyone. The boys played real hard. Their first game was a tie 0-0, second game also a tie 1-1 and their third game they won 1-0. I believe with how they do points and things like that our boys came in 2nd place in their bracket. Over all the team played well--great group of boys! They seem all get along and gel nicely. Coach said that I now have the title of "team photographer"--which of course I am loving!

On a happy note: school has started--YEAH ME! But to be honest I like my kids--so yeah I did miss them. I cannot wait for them to get home and fill me in on how their first day went. Well for all those parents out there in blog land--enjoy the first day of peace and quiet until all those little and big kids come home. There will be loads of papers to fill out, sign and return. The joys of going back to school--pencils, the smell of glue, fresh notebooks and crayons--brings back memories for me. I would love to go back to school shopping for folders, notebooks and all the other goodies that the stores try to sell you (still love going and buying that stuff) Well enjoy you children while they are still in school--going to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate before I have to go and pick up the girls. Kevin should be walking thru the door any minute from the bus stop. ;D

Hi everyone! The soccer tourney is great so far. The boys tied 0-0 their first game & the second game was also a tie 1-1. They worked hard & had lots of fun. I took over 500 pictures today...so they are coming soon. Of course I can only post Kevin's pictures. I know I am a camera nerd! But I like it. The boys started calling me Miss American Eagle...don't have a clue why; but I roll with the punches. Hannah is still working hard with gymnastics. Sarah Jane started field hockey and so far (cross your fingers) she loves it!

I was reminded the other day by a video that is surfing the email chain...how our soldiers are in danger everyday that they are in Iraq and Afghanistan. They were talking about how water boarding is inhumane...however the video was how inhumane our soldiers are treated when they are captured...this video was so graphic that it made me cry while I watched with horror...and I immediately felt that I needed to prayer for these soldiers families--for they will never see these men again. These soldiers were burned alive! And then some men and women who sit in our Government have the nerve to even say that water boarding is inhumane?? Hello...our PO W's that are captured are probably so happy to be captured because they are treated as if they are in some 4 star hotel...3 meals a day...showers, etc. After I cried--my emotions turned to anger! How can someone else do these horrible things to another person??

Bottom line folks--whether you believe in war or not...our soldiers are over there fighting for our freedoms...our freedom of speech, freedom of religion--we have so many freedoms in this country we are spoiled with them. I feel that our government is slowly taking our freedoms away from us. My father was in the Army and I am very proud of him. He is the finest man on this green earth.

I know that I personally walk up to a soldier that I see whether in a restaurant, a mall or even goodwill (where I shop quite often) and tell them that I am proud of them and thank you for all your service to our country. I wish more people would be like me and do this...it really is such a simple thing to do--take time to thank someone for their service...it will make them smile and feel good. Our military is the best in the world--but then again I am coming from a family where my Dad was in the Army.

Sarah Jane starts field hockey

This was the first time that Sarah Jane tried her hands at field hockey. She seemed to like it and said that she had fun. SJ was the youngest (the only one going into first grade) on her team. She was on the shy side, however I could tell that she was really trying. I told her not to fret for it was going to be hard to do at first until she learns. She was excited and said she can't wait till next week--which is a good sign. Sarah Jane did not care for soccer--not her thing.

Here are the sandcastle winners!! Hannah & Sarah Jane had lots of fun creating this castle. I was originally going to help them but they said that only children can enter...but I was allowed to "pack" the molds for them...although the Dad next to us built his kids castle--always one parent who does not want to follow the rules and just let the kids do it. But the girls really had fun and thanks to Bob (one of the strangers who took pictures) sent these to us we now have 2 photos from our vacation--yeah I know I forgot my camera... Thanks again Bob and see you next year at the shore! Oh the girls won a glow in the dark bracelet...pretty cool while it lasted.

Ah the smell of colored pencils, crayons--these things still make me happy. When I was little I could not wait to go back to school. By mid-August it was time to shop for back to school supplies.

This reminds me of what I heard on Glenn Beck the other day...and it just made me plain good-old fashion MAD. In New York they are giving (yes the government) 200.00 check to each kid in the family...these are poor families, welfare etc. and do you know what the parents are buying??? not school supplies such as pencils, backpacks, lunchboxes--No they are buying video games and flat screen tv's. What happened to buying your kids the things they actually need for school? I was just so mad after hearing that program...

Well all you Mom's out there in cyberspace...Happy Shopping! Enjoy the rest of the summer with your children...because soon schools will open again and the house will be once again quiet.

Lights, Camera, ACTION!

Lights, Camera, ACTION!-----NOT!! We had a fabulous vacation at the shore this week...and guess what I, Donna Waterman, forgot my camera!! Yeah I know...I felt so sick to my stomach. The first night we slept at the house, I awoke up at about 1:30am and said oh my I can't believe I forgot the camera!! The one thing to forget...I would of rather forgot my toothbrush! My darling husband looked at me and said "see what you get for rushing me" and rolled over and went back to sleep...I however could not go back to sleep for I was just sick to my stomach. We got up the next morning ate a huge breakfast--Craig cooks--oh how I love this man! and I announced to the children that I did not remember to bring the camera...there was golden silence for a moment--and then all three kids said at once "WHAT NO CAMERA THAT THING IS ATTACHED TO YOU HOW COULD YOU FORGET THAT" I was then the one that was speechless...for I never thought my kids even noticed me always taking pictures of them...I suppose that they are rather use to me behind the camera. Sooo... I called my friend's brother who lives down there all year round and he said sure I can borrow his point and shoot camera--(then he proceeded to be blown away about the fact that I forgot my camera...he said he could not believe it) however he could not find his camera (I at least knew where my camera was; it was just not with me at that moment and time)

So this is the first vacation that we took and have no pictures. Yes I am feeling that sick pit stomach thingy again--and no I am not pregnant! We had loads of fun and came back happy (and with no pictures) but fun it was. We of course hung at the beach by day until about suppertime...went back to the house to fire up the grill (did I mention that Craig cooks ;) )...one night we went to Seaside Heights boardwalk and ate the best funnel cake ever--was worth the $5.00--heck they could of charged me $10.00 and it still would of been worth it. The girls entered a 'Sand Castle Contest' and won!! Their prizes were glow in the dark bracelets. (Oh by the way I did not have my camera but 2 nice men took pictures of the girls standing with their castle and said that they would email me the pictures--I hope that they don't forget for I gave out our email to two complete strangers). Anyway the point is not me forgetting the camera right??? we had lots of fun and enjoyed family time of just hanging together and that is what counts...however the kids told me that if I ever forget the camera again--off with me head :(

Well it feels good to be home again even though I have a ton of laundry, Hannah starts her team gymnastics camp on Monday bright and early, Kevin starts his fall soccer practices this week and Sarah Jane is going to start field hockey this Sunday--I can begin to take pictures again. On a side note: I am reading my 293rd book...almost to book 352!

I love this!...this sign is being seen on US Hwy 15-501 at Lamm’s Grove intersection.
(near Durham , NC ) I am thinking about making a sign of my own for our front yard...but all the Obama lovers in the neighborhood might get nasty...oh wait that's right I am the "mob, right-wing Christian"...hmm I am thinking about changing my name to 'Digg'um Deep Donna'--cuz when you are in the Mob they bury someone deep...I have been listening to Sean Hannity and he is having people call in with a mobster's name. The Democrats just want to take the focus off of what they are doing to get this health care reform bill passed. We as a nation have been asleep far too long...the senators and congressmen are not use to people standing up to them and making them accountable...remember this--they work for us! not the other way around... Folks our freedoms are slowly being taken away from us. Our country was founded on Christian beliefs and Christians are now the minority...every other religion is being accepted but ours...we as Christians believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior--

Please pray for our country and yes our leaders--even though they are idiots in my opinion--in fact sometimes I think our 6 year old is smarter then some of these yo-yos in Washington. We need to stand up for our beliefs~I am so proud of the American people that are going to these town hall meetings and having their voices heard. I know Sen. Spector was not too happy here in PA. for alot of people are just outraged about this ObamaCare trying to be passed. I challenge you all to read a copy of it (found online) and it is really scary. I believe we have very evil people leading our country right now; that's right I said evil--President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed--they are all EVIL people with their own agenda. We need to pray for them that God opens their eyes to the evilness that they are doing. Pretty scary stuff that is trying to get passed. I know I have called my Representatives and called many times. Sometimes I just wish that Jesus returns today and we will be not fretting about all this non-sense--which it is. I feel really passionate about this and need to express myself...and encourage all of you to do the same. This is why I love to blog...you can write anything--until our freedom of speech will be taken away I will continue to do so.

A "Friendly" soccer game

This is Kevin (for those of you who are new--Kevin is in the yellow/blue) in action as he takes on the soccer ball. It was a friendly game against Reading Rages U-13 age group. He was really excited to play...the kid eats, sleeps and breaths soccer. I had lots of fun snapping lots of pictures! I had over 200 some pics that I shot but after much editing I put together a slideshow of 77 pictures.

I have really been in prayer to the Lord about starting my own photography business--specializing in sports photography. I love taking pictures. I feel that I an eye for it and I am wasting my talents of not focusing on using them. I am still going to sub as a teacher's aide in the local school district to keep with a somewhat steady income to help pay for our new van--only 3 more years of car payments then we own it for another 10 years!! LOL But anyway folks I would love to do something with photography--I have a great SLR camera that we got for Christmas a few years ago. And working all the years as a graphic designer gave me an artful eye to crop before you even take the picture. So please pray for me in this area.

Well enjoy life! God has really blessed all of us in so many ways...that we really should not complain.

Remember Terri Schiavo? God bless her soul...hopefully she knew Christ as her personal Savior and is now is Heaven with Him. Let's review in 2005, a COURT ordered the removal of a feeding tube from Terri Schiavo. It outraged and angered alot of people if not the entire Nation...I know that I was one of those people that needed to clear my anger issues.

Well guess what folks--if government takes over our health care, bureaucrats will have the power to decide who will live and die in America. Now don't get excited and get a bee's nest in your pants! This can happen by having the government delaying or denying treatment to critically ill patients because it costs to much.
NOTE to MOM: boy Mom I am sure glad you found your cancer now before ObamaCare! Beware to all older citizens--you need a hip replacement NO, you need more pills NO, you have heart problems NO sorry the government will have to assess your condition and will choose for you if you can have anything done. Oh and on a personal note: I think that Obama is a blooming idiot! I really can honestly say I am so glad to admit that I did not vote for him. But yes I am still praying for him--for him to find the Lord and act like a God-fearing man and have the balls to do the right things that are moralfor this country and not being just a puppet for the left-wing liberals. Enough said about our President or I will be fighting off nausa one again (and hopefully people wake up and not vote him in for another 4 years!) ANYWAY--if I read the ObamaCare bills right--it means it will have an Euthanasia and Abortion bills with the government footing the bill. And it will be our tax dollars doing it! Now folks--I don't know about you but I want the right to choose my own doctors and hospitals and yes my own insurance plan without delay or denial. As a Nation we need to stand up (in a mild, non-violent manner) and take back our Nation. The most important way to do this is by Praying...but there are other ways of letting our voices be heard too.

I disagree with creating on standardized government run health care system--slowly our choices begin to fade-away and competition dies. I know our voices can be heard! Thank God for my big mouth--I knew someday it would be used for good. Write your Representives--they all have emails and yes even phones....so call them. Blog about it--and don't be afraid of other people's opinions--in fact I welcome them with open arms...however no profanity or it will not be posted. If you don't like something or have an idea let your voice be heard. Here are links to get phone numbers for your elected Representives http://House.gov and http://Senate.gov so what are you waiting for folks let your voices be heard--lets take back our Nation--which by the way is the greatest Nation to live in. I actually put my Representives in my cell phone and call them frequently--they are hearing my voice--I am telling them I do not want a "health care reform plan" that is going to consist of forcing every citizen to purchase health insurance that will be run by our government--oh and guess what it is just going to be for us wee little folks but not congress and senate they can still have their choice...please I encourage you all to get out and vote...it is our duty to do so--and if you vote you have the right to complain about something you do not agree with. America is the best to live in. Well enough of me standing on my soapbox in the middle of PA. I will be heard I will stand up for my rights being slowly taken away I will...to be continued when I become fed up again. Enjoy the day--with family and friends...so something good today.

God's beauty is in full bloom

I was busy yesterday taking pictures in our yard. The flowers are so colorful with rich hues--I just had to smile. I hope that all of you stop to smell the flowers-for God has created them for us to enjoy. Summer is quickly passing us by and soon the children will be back at school...hmmm...will I miss them or do a "yeah me"? I love the summertime for it is a time to kick back. We have been relaxing on our back porch with family and friends. We love to eat outside--especially when it is raining. The sound of rain makes you be mellow. We even ate outside during a thunderstorm which is pretty cool! What a canvas the Lord has created when it comes to summer--flowers in all colors, bugs, birds. Well I hope that everyone is getting out and about this summer whether digging in the dirt or just grabing a good book to read while lounging on the porch swing (with a big glass of koolaide--grape flavor of course and some cookies too) Kick back and enjoy the rest of summer--for it is passing us by and we will blink ;) and fall will appear. We went back to school shopping with my mother-in-law the other day. Had loads of fun and shopped till we dropped. We hit the Salvation Army store (local thrift shop) and the girls and I were in pure heaven! We love this store--you never know what treasures we will find. Besides clothing I also found frames,(for the many pictures and art projects to be framed) flower pots, and some other odds and ends. Of course I have to take Kevin for jeans but maybe not till January--yes our son is one of those knuckleheads that wear shorts all year long--we pick our battles. Well enjoy the rest of summer and take time to listen to the sound of rain or take in the beauty of the flowers.

Books--so many books so little time

Just wanted to update everyone that I am going on my 287th book--of my goal of reading 352 books by the end of this year. I I really got ahead of schedule this year when I was a permit sub for the local high school doing study halls. I love to read books!! A Fresh, New Start...

Last night was the first official day of Hannah's fresh, new start...at her new gym. It starts a new chapter in her life and gymnastic career. This last year has been a long road that we traveled. It's been hard on me too. She was upset and they made me upset. The gym that Hannah had been going to--did not have a good coach...we stayed to give her a chance and after the first year we should of moved but did not and I feel that I did not do Hannah any justice and she is the one who suffered. The coach sat around and did alot of nothing--oh she did do somethings--she did alot of "texting" on the cell phone and talking on the phone too...no spoting, just yelling at the girls but how are they suppose to correct something if they were never taught in the first place??? hmmmm...that is a very good question Donna. Hannah who was a level 5 had basically taught herself this past year...very much frustration on the whole family. I told her I thought this was the time to make a clean break before the start of the new season. Hannah listened, nodded and simply said "ok Mom" let's shop around. We decided on Upper Bucks in Quakertown PA. The Coaches are many and act professional--YES we went down to nosy and YES we saw them working--actually spotting the girls, not talking or texting on their cell phones, and teaching and correcting the girls in a positive way--oh did I mention that the girls on the team were having fun and smiling. Hannah turned and said " I want to come to this gym Mom". And so it begins our commute of 45 minutes each way to train under new coaches. She has a fresh start, a new beginning and I have NO illusions. I know that nothing is perfect, except Jesus. But I know that I have made the right decision for our daughter. She started this fresh start by attending IGC (International Gymnastics Camp) this past week, and boy did she ever have fun and work hard. Hannah has her excitment and passion back--she said that she worked on level 6 skills and wants to prove to her new coaches that she is going to move up to level 6. She has her dream again for 2016 and her passion has returned! I love to see that excitement in her eyes when she is performing even at practice. This was a hard year for us but we are back on track...and Hannah hopes that you enjoy this picture of her standing in between Shawn Johnson and Blaine Wilson. She had a wonderful time at camp and can't wait till next year! (Guess that Craig has to budget!) Bottom line: Coaches need to be a great match because in the world of gymnastics--they often become like "second parents" away from home--we need to have a trust with that coach and build a good strong relationship. For the gymnast spends up to 20 hours a week doing something--it had better be something you enjoy especially if you are a 9 year old kid--and that means you need to have a great coach who is just as passionate about what they are doing...and Hannah's old coach did not have that passion to pass onto our daughter. I continue to pray for Hannah--as the jump from level 5 to 6 on bars is a tough one, both on the demands it makes on Hannah's body and from a standpoint of the kind of skills she needs to master. Hannah, as I said before has her sights on 2016 for trying out for the Olympics. There are probably only 100 elite gymnasts in the USA--and only nine of them (that is including alternates) get chosen....dreams do come true if you are passionate about them.

Hannah went to Nationals in Pa. this time. It was fun but not as fun as last years was in WI. She metaled in vault with a 9th place. This was the last time for Nationals under the current coach/gym. We are moving her to a new gym--as I always say "it is was it is" this year--learn and grow from this situation. For all you gymnasts out there--the coach is a very important part of your life--and if they are not good mentors, leaders, and encouragers--they are not a good match for you as a coach and you should find another; especially if you are putting in alot of hours of practice and have to be around them. Hannah and I had fun anyway--she got to go shopping alittle bit in between meets--which she found this cute lime green/orange tote bag with a peace symbol....it really is super cute! (me and my purses and tote bags--I know it really is a sickness!! :)) We also got the best italian ice that made Rita's bad...oh the rootbeer was excellent and melted in our mouths. Hannah had the mango and it was also very tasty.

Sarah Jane finishes soccer season with a goal!

Sarah Jane was actually having lots of fun in the mud on her last soccer game of the spring season. The mud was flying as they ran past...Hannah was getting grossed out by having it splatter all over her as she was sitting...but not our SJ! Sarah Jane finished off the season by scoring a goal. We are really proud of her. She has decided that she would like to try out field hockey in the fall...I am alittle bit worried about giving this girlie a stick! The fact of the matter is whatever your kids try out and give an effort--we as parents need to support them in it. Enjoy these pics. I will be updating everyone on Hannah's Nationals experience after next week. Kevin has made the Perugia Soccer team and we are looking forward to watching him grow in his sport of soccer. Craig and I know that Kevin and Hannah have found their sport that they are passionate about...still awaiting for Sarah Jane to find her passion. She teases us and tells us that she is going to be the next Jane Goodall and live with apes and monkeys...who knows what God has planned for her...His secret is yet to be told. On a personal note: Please continue to pray for my mom who is receiving treatments for her cancer. She is doing really good and is in great spirits (talked to her yesterday). Go MOM Go!...keep up the positive outlook and remember you have the whole wide internet praying for you. I love you lots!

Kevin soccer...

Just finally wanted to update the blog on Kevin's soccer. He is playing great this year and really is enjoying himself. He is trying out for Perugia...a premier soccer club. He is excited about it...plus his best friend Charlie is also trying out too. I will let everyone know if he and Charlie makes the team for this coming fall season. I personnally would love to have him make this team...because then all the kids on the team just play soccer...no more baseball or lacrosse to contend with. It gets old when spring season comes and half the kids double dip and play two sports at the same time...then sometimes we have just enough players to play with no subs. I feel it no longer is fair for the boys who play just soccer and are passionate about the game...they come to play and get down because of not having subs or even enough players. At this age level now we are seeing the boys evalute what they want to do especially when they enter high school level. Oh yeah that is one of Kevin's goals to make the high school soccer team. Well got go.

I love this picture! This of course was photo-shopped...but BAAMBOO--it got some punch to it. What if all our onions were this colorful in our gardens? They would be so much fun to pick and eat...hmmm maybe I can get these somewhere so that the girls would finally eat onions. This picture just has to make you smile ;). I really, really can not wait til spring to come and stay!

I am so excited to dig in the dirt and play and plant and did I mention play? Oh but I just remembered....I still have to take down the Christmas decorations...oops...hmmm--maybe I will just leave them up for next year then I will finally beat the neighbors across the street! They always are the first to put up their decorations (yes those organized kind of people). You all know those kinds of people--personnaly I see these Moms who can do everything, and I think "boy, I should really have them do some stuff for me." I am the type that makes lists and then never look at them unless I find them at the bottom of my purse. So many ideas so little time. But anyway getting back to this picture of these cute onions--this reminds me so much of people...that we are all different in so many ways. We all have different talents that God has blessed us with...it makes me sometimes so sad that many people do not use their talents. It seems like a waste. God wants us to use these talents or gifts--there are so many wonderful talents: singing, music (which these are not any of mine--I can't sing a note to save my life), drawing, photography, cooking and baking, sewing, teaching, writing...and so many more. I would love to challege you all to pick up on a talent of yours that you have not used in a long time. Maybe you always dreamed about writing a book but just never got around to starting it. Start this spring!! and don't forget to plant some onions in your garden too.

Okay I admit it...I have an obession (one of many of course)--I am truely addicted to flickr.com-- There I said it. I love to just surf the many beautiful pictures that talented photographers take. I thought this one is great for thinking spring--just stunning. The colors are just simply breath taking. I actually printed this one out--yes on my new printer--and going to frame it in my studio room. Looking at this just makes me happy. There are so many things in life to be happy about: just being able to get out of bed in the morning, brushing our teeth, and having many clothes to choose from to wear. Check out lifewithoutlimbs.org. Sometimes we "complain" about things--that frankly--we should just be glad that we have in our lives. We have good health most of the time, food to eat, roof over our heads, etc... Take time to reflect on the little things that we have in our lives even if they are the simplest thing such as a toothbrush and toothpaste. I am thankful for my Godly husband, Craig, and my 3 children (even though sometimes they drive me NUTS to the point of insanity) but they are all healthy and can run and jump around. I was emailing a recent new friend (a fellow believer in Christ) and she was telling me that their son got dianoised with MS at age 29 years old. I wish I knew what the Lord has in His great plans for this young man...I know that it is probably frustrating to him, his mom and dad having to adjust to MS. Please take a moment to remember him in your prayers--yeah that is the cool thing about praying--we can pray for people that we don't even know--but Jesus knows him by name and is with him. We live in a world that has many bad things right now: wars, death, diseases, and so many more that are too many to mention. Like I said take time to reflect about all the good things that are happening to you and your family and give a big thanks to the Lord.

WWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUU!! Boy I am really excited!! We just got our new printer...our old printer was a dinosaur...have the things did not work anymore on it when we upgraded to a new computer that runs Vista. Okay HP--I am going to promote your newest printer for you...and free at that. This is the HP Photosmart 6380--LOVE IT. It prints out the most beautiful pictures...what a great tool to have. As many of you know I love photography and playing around with my camera...this is just a great printer...it has all separate ink carts. so if you run out of just yellow...then yellow is all you buy...no more tri-color costly ink carts. for me. Oh did I tell you all that I LOVE IT! Oh and it scans and prints out color or b/w photocopies too. WEE WEE I love our new printer. (just a footnote: don't look at me in the picture--pink is not the best color that I look good in.)

Igor the Rat

Okay I just hate rats!! They are dirty, foul, and why God created them--I just don't know. BUT you have to admit that Igor is really cute. He almost makes you want to cuddle up to him...NOT. It brings back some memories of my dad coming home and telling us about his pet rat named what else Rat. He kept it at the middle school that he worked at when living here in PA. but the funny thing was all his co-workers would stop and feed him too. It took my dad some time to figure out why Rat became a rather big rat. Here along with my dad feeding him once day...his co-workers were feeding him too and not just anything but sweets. He was white I believe too. But really why God created some animals I just have to sit back and wonder WHY?? Take for example flies--another dirty creature and it flys too-- eeuuwww. I would say squirrels but Violet would have a fit (oh sorry I forgot that you read the blog Violet...hahahahaha) but seriously folks--I have made a list of all the animals that I pray are not in Heaven when I get there.

I was surfing flickr.com and came across this winter flower mosaic...it makes winter blues fade away. They are such simple photos but make an impact on how I am feeling...I am really praying hard for spring to arrive shortly. I repotted all my plants inside today and got that "bug" of having my hands in the soil. I really can't wait for getting out in my gardens--vegetable and flowers. I am one that actually has a garden journel--yes I record by sketching out my gardens and that way I remember year from year what I planted. This way I can plan where I am going to put plants (yes I know I am one of those crazy people that is always moving things around.) I finally found the perfect spot for our vegetable garden--and I will not be moving it ever again. The plants did really well last year and had lots of sunshine. For a small space we really got alot in it. Craig (my favorite guy!!) says that we can even put more in that space--so look out veggie garden!! This year will be bountiful. We are going to plant more cucumbers though this year--ran out last year--gave too many away. I also can not wait for our black raspberries! This year we should have a bumper crop of them. Well think spring!

Hannah's Gymnastics Meet

Hannah did well at her meet this past Sunday. She came in 1st place for vault, 2nd place for bars, 3rd place for floor and 4th place for beam. She also placed 2nd place for all-around. We are so proud of her. She still needs to qualify for Nationals this year...she is so close. Hannah needs to have a all-around score of 33 to be able to go to Nationals--her score this meet was 32.30! So close. It would be great if you could remember her in your prayers. She is working hard and pushing herself. Here is a collage that we put together...we hope that you enjoy. On a serious note--please pray for my mom for on 2/19/09 she is scheduled for surgery to see if she has cancer --she has been blessed by God not to have colon cancer and now she is being checked out in other areas. I know that alot of people are praying and that it is in the Lord's hands. I love you MOM!! Poor Kevin got his braces on today...mouth will hurt for a couple of days. He looks cute--but then I am his mom...he takes after his dad--yeah I tend to think that my husband is handsome...I know, I know--I am such a sap when it comes to good-looking men....but just my men! I can't believe that Kevin is already in 7th grade and half way thru middle school--boy time sure does fly. He did well at the indoor soccer tounament this past Monday...however I did not take any pics because they never get in the dome. But the boys played well. Sarah Jane just went for the ride in the van the whole weekend to watch big brother and big sister....but never fear people--soccer season for little people is starting in spring. I myself cannot wait! Pretty tired of this cold cold weather...but I still love winter...simply waiting for the season to change. I can not wait to dig into the soil with the vegetable and flower gardens. Well going to retire with my 23rd book of the year. Last year I beat my record by 1--I read 351 books last year starting January 1st until December 31st. I must read 352 books this year. Happy reading everyone!

At my sister and brother-in-law's super bowl party the gang was just having fun for the camera. I really love the pic with all the girls
and their "Steve Urkel" pants on. They laughed for a good ten minutes straight! Everyone had lots of fun and of course good food...we hid the taco dip when Shannan arrived...to see if the threat still was in effect...my cousin Shannan said that if there was no taco dip at family gatherings she was not coming. We rolled out to the van with all the food that we ate...and of course I even loved watching the game (and yes I am one of the women that hate watching football) but the game was played well by both teams. Well I hope that everyone is enjoying the new look of our blog. We hope that you visit often.

Oh please remember to keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers--she is being tested for cancer...she has exploritory surgery on February 19. Also Craig's mom had her gale bladder removed today. She came home this afternoon and is on the road to healing.

Wow...Hannah turns 9! That means only 7 more years until she can try out for the Olympics! Hannah got so many nice things for her birthday...even her cousin Ryan gave his own money for a gift (A BIG THANKS TO RYAN). But her favorite gift would have to be her ipod nano--hot pink--girl power!! Uncle Todd set her up and she is already using it and loves that it can play movies on it. Well here are some pictures for you to enjoy. Stay warm--still pretty cold here in the northeast...but Nana Mertz said it was 62 in Hawaii...I told her I feel so sorry for her...NOT...meanwhile one of our days was -20 below. Enjoy this cold weather while we can...because soon it will be really hot and humid. Well Hannah --we are so very proud of you and you have really blossomed into a young lady.

Openning presents...

Cousin reading cards to S.J.

Sarah Jane had a great time at her birthday party. I made 2 homemade ice cream cakes and a "soccer ball" chocolate cake (which was lop-sided) but still tasted good. Everyone pretty much took the ice cream cake...especially the kids. She got some cool presents and even some much loved "Bobby Jack" monkey stuff. Sarah Jane loves Bobby Jack (which you can only get at Sears!)

Craig and I cannot believe our littlest turned 6...boy have the years really gone by so fast. Just seems like yesterday that she was born and WOW--having a mommy moment here! Anyway the party was a hit and all the kids had fun as the adults too.

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas spending time with family and friends. We love that time of year--I drive Craig nuts with all the lights (yes indeed I am Queen of Lights)...however this year I ran out of time--and did not put too many lights up for the outside. I once again packed up the Christmas things until next year. Happy New Year everyone!

Hannah's Meet Dec. 14, 2008

Hannah did rather well at her second meet of the season. These pictures are of her on the beam. She placed 1st place on beam, 2nd place on vault, 3rd place on bars and 3rd place on floor in her age divison. She also placed 3rd place for all-around with a score of 33.00 (she needs a 35 to be able to go to Nationals.) I think she can do it! Yeah I know I am her mom...but Hannah has the drive in her...she is really excited about summer this year...she is going up to a camp called International Gymnastics Camp and Shawn Johnson is going to be there (please pray that Shawn's week does not change!!) Hannah is so excited about meeting her! Well I think that I am actually caught up on the family activities...but our family is always on the move and we are going sometimes in different directions...but that's okay, and hey we are having fun!

Christmas Day 2008

We hope that all of you had a wonderful Christmas! Our children were waiting for the day to arrive...we got them a wii system to all share; but of course "Santa" still came by with some small gifts for each. Our cat Tate even enjoyed the wii box as you can see with the pictures above. I love to see the excitment of children of all ages openning there presents on Christmas Day! And best of all...each and everyone of us got the best gift of all!--yes Jesus--God's Son gave the best gift of death on that cross--but rose again to save us all from our sins.

We had a great day of people coming and going all thru out the day...Craig cooked (yes ladies I have got a good man--does all the Christmas cooking every year!) He made chicken, ham, potatoes, veggies--but then I come in and top off the evening with many desserts! Kevin made the cheesecake this year and it was very yummy!! Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves...so until next year we can do it all over again. I think that food is a big part of the holidays.

We hope that you enjoy the pictures of the Waterman kids openning up some gifts. We miss you Grams, Pappy Althouse & Nana Mertz! Hope you enjoy your package of goodies (so sorry that it was late getting in the mail).

Christmas just around the corner!!

Well I hope all is well...and everyone is almost done with their Christmas shopping...NOT!! Yeah this year I am really behind in that department. I am really just not in the spirit of shopping...hate the long lines...hate the rude people in the long lines...and hate the fact that I have to be pinching pennies. Okay enough feeling sorry for me cuz I know that you don't. Anyway the real reason for Christmas is JESUS. I think that people really have forgotten the reason for the season. Remember to celebrate the birth of our Savior this Christmas season. And yes--I am saying Merry Christmas to people in the stores.

Actually to be honest with you Craig and I are getting away cheap this year...kids in the Waterman family took a vote and all agreed with getting a wii--so good old Mom (that's me) shopped online in Oct and got a great deal on one. Hopefully Craig and I will get to play sometimes too!

We are still upgrading everything to our new computer (thanks to my inlaws--they got us a family gift of a new computer for Christmas and gave it to us early) We have windows vista--pretty cool now that it works...word of advice--use Norton antiveris not Panda...Panda was locking up our whole system and yes it was not even getting to our pretty desktop...so I want to say sorry that I did not get to update the blog for so long. But never fear good people--everything is working great and we are actually enjoying windows vista...great things like videos and other stuff can be done...so when I figure out how to videos I will then try to figure out how to post to blog.

Well I don't know about you...but we were blessed to get an early Christmas gift for our family--a new computer. I have not decided if I like "Windows Vista" yet. There are pretty cool things that you can do but could not do in "Windows XP". I am really excited about all the cool stuff that you can do with pictures...however Vista is really slow to boot up and actually work sometimes!! Somedays I really want to start ripping out my hair!! (which I have alot of). You know I have a passion for the camera, and I have started now to really play around with pics. I will post them once in awhile and would love to have your comments on them. This is a purple cornflower from my sister's backyard...boy with all this cold weather I really am starting to miss summer time. I thought I would post this picture to help us all think of summer when we nice and warm and did not have to turn our heat on. Of course our son is still wearing shorts like a "knucklehead"...all the middle school and high school kids are still wearing shorts. Well got to go...have a great night.

Just wanted to update our blog. Kevin's soccer team did well this season. He played hard and still is a living, eating, sleeping soccer machine. He decided already he wants to play for a division 1 soccer college. It is hard to believe that in 2 years he can tryout for the high school soccer team. Boy the years are going by fast. We are really proud of him. He also is doing very well in school and gets good grades. The time is come for indoor soccer to soon start...HOORAY

The boys are really playing great together...it was a nail biting game and Kevin received his first "yellow" card today from the ref; basically if Kevin gets a "red" card next...he will have to sit out of the rest of the game plus the next game. He plays very aggressive and ran the goalie over...couldn't stop in time...so that is why the ref carded him....they protect the goalie alittle bit at this age level...however the ref told him that if it was a high school or college level game he would of not got carded. Needless to say at this age he thought it was cool to be carded.

We had an active weekend of playing and watching soccer games. The weather was crisp. Gram D. was there to cheer the kids on, along with Uncle Eric and Pappy Waterman. There was a conflict with times so we could only get to see half time and beyond of Kevin's game because SJ has practice and game all in one day. But it was fun and enjoyed by all.

Well my parents came home from Hawaii to visit--what a time they had--seeing all 10 grandchildren's different activities from soccer, gymnastics, dance, ice hockey, field hockey--they had to have a schedule to just keep up with everyone! They had fun and enjoyed themselves plus they got to go out with friends to lunches and dinners etc... My Dad just turned 62 and look how young he still looks!! Must be that Hawaiian air that they breath over there. My Mom is happy and she is posing with the oldest granddaughter who just turned 13. Boy time goes by. They are both back to work and arrived in Hawaii safe and sound.

Well a good friend of my husband told Craig that he enjoys our blog...however he wanted to know why my husband was not on the blog. So here we go...this is the wonderful man that I am married too. He is my best friend, my rock, my lover, and NO he is all mine! I love this man so much. He is a great father, hard-working man who loves the Lord and life. He coaches Kevin's soccer team, loves watching Hannah do her gymnastics and is teaching Sarah Jane to follow in Kevin's footsteps in the game of soccer...which is pretty good at.

Life don't get any better then this...enjoying each other. Well did not want to disappoint the "Marks" man...I hope that you are now happy to see that I did not forget to include Craig.

On a personnal note--I am now starting my 318th book of the year...every year I try to beat myself by reading 1 more book than I read last year...so I must read 351 by Dec. 31st....will I make it??? hmmmm stay tuned. Oh and many of you are wondering what does Donna like to read---well I love to read anything!! But I especially love Janet Evanovich...I laugh out loud when I read her books...and I got my grandmother 'Gram D.' to read all her books...she loves them too.

Well to all you men out there--don't forget to tell your wife that you love her everyday...and you women--do something special for your man by telling him that you are proud of him and surprise him with a BIG kiss at the door. Goodnight.

Kevin's new soccer team STM United

Kevin is now playing on a new team STM United

It is a new team that was started to get boys that are serious about soccer to play at a higher level of play. They were in their first tournament and came back very happy with a 1st place trophy. Something to be proud of. Kevin is playing at a higher level and loves every minute of it. He lives, eats, sleeps soccer! He is playing forward lately and loves scoring.

Sarah Jane is starting soccer soon and is getting ready...she also starts Kindergarten this coming week...very excited about it. The two older ones are getting excited about going back to school and seeing friends that they did not see over summer. I can't believe that summer is coming to an end so soon. However, I love FALL! season...the crisp air and the changing of the leaves. The colors are just so pretty. Well to all those parents out there...enjoy these last few days of summer with your children. They grow up so fast. Kevin is taller then me and eats us out of house and home right now. So they do grow up fast. Our school secretary was sharing with me the other day that all her children are now off to college and it is just her and her husband at home...a very quiet home "empty nesters"...she said that she missed the days that all her children were loud and running around. So enjoy those loud moments...because sooner or later the all too quiet moments will come.

Wonders always happen!

I can not believe it! The whole family can not believe it...Sarah Jane now swims...yes and underwater! YYYYEEEEAAAAA. We were waiting for this moment. She was so "pigheaded" last year and into the this summer about swimming. She finally listened to Uncle Todd. He always gets all the kids to listen...hmm maybe I should take some lessons from him...SJ never listens to me. She starts Kindergarten in Sept. I hope the teacher is ready for this one! The teacher will probably retire after having SJ in the class. WELL DONE Sarah Jane--we are so proud of you for taking on swimming! Now you can have fun with the rest of the family swimming, much more fun when you know how. We had a great time at the beach with our good friends Mup/Allison and their children. I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer...it is soon to be over and the kids will be back at school...YEAH ME. I think they are ready to get back to the books anyway. They are set and we went back to school shopping already with my Mother-in-Law. We have a tradition every year the girls and I go with her to go back to school shopping and out to lunch. It is alot of fun and alot of "girl" time. Kevin gave up going with us about 2 years ago...he said it takes to long. I can not believe that all my children will now be in school...wow where did the time go.

Hannah Places at Nationals

Hello everyone it took awhile to post since my last posting...I am very sorry about that.--on to tell you how we had fun in WI!

Hannah had so much fun at Nationals. We traveled to Sheboygan, WI --yes we were a crazy couple of parents who drove in a van with 3 kids! But we made it in under 16 hours of driving straight thru--with "restroom" stops inbetween. It was really a great family time and we talked alot...and we listened to 3 kids singing to their mp3's...yes all to different music at the same time...Craig and I laughed because it made us think of the movie RV with Robin Williams who played the dad! We settled in to our hotel room by check in time...the kids were hungry, needed to stretch out their legs with some walking so we decided to check out the local town and find a pizza joint real fast! (Mom was starving!) On Wednesday morning was Openning Ceremonies. This was a great fun time by all--this was the biggest YMCA Gymnastics Nationals ever! There was 21 states represented with 98 teams--which was a total of 1380 gymnasts completing. It was a great experience for Hannah and we are so blessed that our family back home had raised money for us as a family to go and become part of this experience with Hannah. After Openning Ceremonies they had a festival for the gymnasts and their families. It was free food (my husband was excited about that) rides, rock climbing and lots of fun for all. It was great to hang out with the 3 other girls from Hannah's team. It meant getting to know the their families and becoming more of friends then just "parents" of Hannah. We had lots of fun! We all got a good nights sleep because Hannah was due to complete on Thursday. While I was doing her hair...I asked her if she was nervous...she said NO Mom--you just learn to block that stuff out...hmmm I have to take hints from my 8 year old on how she does this?? Well we get her to where she needs to be on time and so Mom's nerves start kicking in! Hannah on the other hand is cool as a cucumber. She did great!! Hannah placed 3rd in vault with a 9.450 and placed 7th in bars with a 9.1 She received metals for these two events. Her score for beam was 8.47 and floor was 8.025. Her all-around score was 35.050. We are really proud of her!! I hope that you all enjoy pictures and thanks so much for your prayers and support! We love you all and are very blessed that the Lord has given us such a great family and friends.

Sarah Jane is really getting good (like her big brother) at soccer. She says she loves soccer! and that she wants to be a soccer coach someday. We will see what the future holds for SJ. Her Daddy loves that he has another one joining the soccer leagues. I am very proud of her too. Go SARAH JANE Go. She has a break from the sport until this coming fall.

Well we are busy packing to head to WI for Hannah's gymnastics Nationals completion. She is really excited and has been working hard everyday from 10-6 at the gym. I am busy making sure that all are packed and ready to go (alot for 5 people)...however I believe that we have more food then luggage! We would like to take the time to thank all of our family members who "gave freely" money gifts for us to be able to make this happen for Hannah. SO A BIG THANK YOU! We love all of you so much and we know that our family loves us back. Hannah also sold ham/cheese sandwiches that we all helped make (plus our good friends the Ziegenfus's came to help make them too)

Please pray for safety and good health on our trip especially no injuries for Hannah. She said that "Mom, I am going to do my best and have lots of fun while I am doing it." Her coach has said she has turned into a regular "gym rat"...loves being there.

I will update the blog for everyone when we return home and none of the kids are "hogging" the computer. Kevin will not know how to act with being away from the computer and not checking his stats....hmmm.

On a sad note: My Pop-pop just passed away. He was a great man. Kevin scored a goal in his honor and remembrance...Hannah would like to score a 9.0 or higher on vault for Pops. We will always remember him in our hearts. He has gone to be with our Lord in Heaven...and someday we will meet him there again.

Kevin's Soccer game

Kevin was on fire this last soccer game...he is getting so good (and I am not just saying this because I am his mom!) He is passionate about soccer--he eats, sleeps and probably dreams about soccer. He is awaiting to hear about if he made a new team for fall--they had try-outs and now we wait to see if he made the team. It is for a better team, right now he plays travel and this new team would be a premier team. I will fill everyone in when we find out if he makes it. This will look good on his soccer resume and he will also have a better chance to make the high school team in a few years. Now that the boys are 12 they are alot more aggressive on the field and out for blood so to speak. We are really proud of him and his friend Charlie with how they play the game. In fact I am one of those moms who hate missing games! I love watching them, especially thru my camera lense. Well got to go...have a great night.

Kevin's Birthday

Boy can't believe it that Kevin is 12! Boy does time fly by or what. Pretty soon the school year will be over and he will enjoy the summer and then 7th grade. WOW is all I can say. Kevin enjoyed his birthday party with all the cousins. They all are getting so big. Here are some pics from the party. He was pumped about all the itunes cards that he got and the rest too. He is such a typical boy...he eats!! He wanted a ice cream cake...however I was too CHEAP...to buy one in the store. So what's a Mom to do--that's right she makes her own ice cream cake! I made a homemade ice cream cake with cookies and cream ice cream, hot fudge, and crushed oreos. There was no cake left so it must of been good. Well enjoy the pics.

I know that I have said that Hannah did not make Nationals this year...however at States she scored and still got to go to Nationals!!! Give a BIG congrats to Hannah. You earned it and we are so proud of her and how she has met her goals this year. We are so proud of all our kids. Kevin has been doing well with his soccer this spring season and has some new moves on him. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy. Sarah Jane has picked soccer for her sport and started this spring season. She scored 1 goal so far --she still needs to learn how to turn the ball around to go the other direction LOL. We took some pictures of her too--running the soccer field. She was so excited and loves her "pink" striped cleats...must be a girly thing. Otherwise life in the Waterman's house is busy. The kids can not wait till school ends...only 35 more days left. This year has gone fast--where oh where does the time fly. Craig has been busy with work and picked up another job on Mondays cutting grass with his Uncle and cousin. He seems to like it and already sports a tan...I am really jealous of this fact and hate being chalky white...I feel alot better when I am tan. Kevin's birthday party is coming up and I will post pictures from this event next week. Oh and yes my birthday is tomorrow (April 25th) and I turn the big 41. I have grown wiser in my age and now dye my hair (I found 1 gray hair and I freaked out!) yes I am just not ready for gray hair yet.hahahahaha. Hannah misses Nationals by 7/10's :(....

Some bad news...Hannah missed qualifiying for Nationals this year by 7/10's. She was disappointed...however we all told her that we were so PROUD of her and her achievments that she should be proud of herself. This was only her 3rd meet ever and there is always next year...plus now we can budget it in too:) She was your typical kid who was sad at first then moved on and forgot about it. She told us that she is going to work even harder to get to Nationals next year.

Moving on to Kevin--his first game in the 2nd session for soccer---they kicked butt--won 16-2...I felt bad for the other team (yes I am one of those Moms that like when the game is super close--that why both teams are challenged) Kevin's coach told them that they were going to play one man down and they could only score using their left foot only (all the boys are right handed--so that means their right foots are more powerful) He has another game this coming Wednesday night...I will keep you updated on his games. Kevin practices soccer everywhere!! in the house, on the playground, the ball is always touching his feet. So far he has only broken 2 plates on the walls...good thing I only paid 10 cents a piece for them at yard sales....I am prepared to replace the next broken one...have a box of plates ready to hang! LOL In fact this past Halloween when Kevin and his friend Charlie went trick or treating...(my husband chap. them)--they passed the soccer ball back and forth in between going to the houses!! I am glad that Craig was with them...it would of drove me nuts!! and yes their costumes were their soccer uniforms! On a serious note: I have seen Kevin's soccer skills get so advanced and continues to grow from hard work/practice. I would love to surprise him to a real Pro-game someday for his birthday.

Sarah Jane is excited to follow in her brother's footsteps: she starts soccer this spring in April. She is really excited about it and she actually "practices" with her older brother and his friend. They hold nothing back--I have to remind them once in awhile that yes she is only 5! But S.J. keeps up with boys and we believe that she will become a great soccer player too someday.

Craig and I are looking at some business opportunities...to build and open a sports complex someday. We are building a business plan and looking for investors at this point. This will be a very long process and will take years to do...but we are talking to a lot of people (collecting business cards) and they agree with us that there is a need for one in our area. We would like to have soccer, gymnastics, field hockey, fitness center, basketball, volleyball, etc. It will cost millions...but would be a good business venture to make money too once it got off the ground and would be good for the community. I have a brunch of ideas in my head (which is pretty scary sometimes) but if you know me you would understand. I love America--land of opportunities. My sister joked with me the other night and said that it would be so COOL to have a sports complex--and all the kids would go for free!! Well everyone have a great weekend!

Where has the time gone????

I can not believe that I have last blogged on Feb 5...time just flys by when you have children. Hope that everyone had a super Valentine's Day. Our family usually just celebrates this holiday with homemade cards that are mushy and a steak dinner. No big thing. Well lets see we went to my niece's birthday...hard to believe she is 9 years old already. Like I said time flys! The cousins always look forward to getting together. All the kids have been busy in their sports: Kevin still is playing indoor soccer; Hannah is getting ready for her Meet on March 2nd (hopefully she will qualify for Nationals missed it by l point last time); and Sarah Jane is starting soccer in April also. It should be fun running around to soccer games and gymnastic meets this spring! Plus my sisters kids: Taylor, Andrew, Connor, Ryan, Peyton, Megan, and Erin are doing sports to this spring-- ice hockey, soccer, laccross--we try to see a couple of each their games too...but sometimes schedules overlap and you just can't do it....which brings me to the question of: We as parents do we let our children get to involved with extra activities?? (yes comments are welcome) Craig and I are very firm believers that you should pick one sport and excell in it...which our children have done very well with. However I am so amazed at how other people let their children do 2 or 3 sports a season and then wonder why their children are so tired and burned out--plus the parents are so burned out driving them everywhere--not to mention the price of gas! Helloooooo...boy could it be that they are doing too much???? especially while they are in school and have all that business of homework, friends, etc. Sometimes I think we push our children to be involved in too much--kids need down time too...even church activities falls in this. Yes I am sure that I will get some comments in that area but that is okay. We here at the Waterman Household think that we do not have to go to every church function that comes down the line. We obviously are a Christ-centered family, but sports also is a big part of our family life--our children are witnessing to other kids alot of times that do not go to church or even know who Jesus is. So many people think that we have to go to all the church functions ( which don't get me wrong are important) and do everything with the church family...I guess I am getting fed up with some of our church people telling us that we should come to more activities and "make" our children go to more youth activities. I tell them flat out that I think they should mind their own business and worry about how they are serving Christ in their own families. I know that sounds harden but I am frankly getting tired of who's who and what they are doing in the church. We are serving Christ by having people see our actions out on the sports fields even if we are just watching the games and talking to other parents--they see our actions. We are suppose to be the salt of the world--what better place to do it but in the world--not hiding behind the church doors--now don't get me wrong it is very important to go to church and worship and get fed with God's word...but then use that to His glory. So many people today think well if I go to church and all the church nites I am doing good and will get to heaven....however when they are not in church during the week they don't witness to that person in the shopping center or parking lot. Now folks I am not one of those Jesus Freaks that stand on the corner and preach to everyone; however I am one that thinks sometimes if you force your children to go to every youth group function or church service/activity--sometimes then it affects your family in a negative way. For example: if your childen see that you are involved with alot of children activities at church and putting your family's homelife on hold and not getting things done at the homefront--your family life will suffer. I don't know about anybody else but God wants us to put our family first before the church family--and so many do it the opposite way. Well guess I went on a roll here...sorry about that to anyone that is affended by this subject...but then it is a free-willed world and you don't have to read my blog either. Hope that everyone has a good week and I will promise to be more on top of updating my blog better.

Sarah Jane's New Haircut!

Sarah Jane has been bugging me to cut her hair...it was very long and down to her butt. I let her go on and on for about a week. She was very persistant about having a haircut....well here it is the after cut. She came to me with her brother's soccer magazine and there was an article about the Beckhams (you know my David--one of the best soccer players ever living at the moment, besides my son Kevin) well his wife is Victoria...and Sarah Jane (SJ) said as a matter of factly--Momma I want my new haircut to look like this women's. So I did my best and cut off 7 inches of hair....I did not do too bad of a job; however I did have my own hairdresser fix a little bit here and there to trim it more polish looking. So here is SJ sitting with her Dad at a gymnastics meet waiting to watch closing ceremonies. I think she look really cute....what do you think?

Kevin's Soccer

Well I have been having alot of Mommy Moments about Hannah....soooo I must brag about my other 2 children as well. Kevin has been playing soccer since he is 5. He joined a travel team at the age of 8 and has been going strong ever since. He has passion for the game; his goal is to become a pro-soccer player. My husband and I always tell our children that is not just a dream...but if you really want something it can be done if you work hard at it. Here are some pictures of Kevin in action out on the soccer field. We never complain about him dribbling inside the house against the walls...sometimes I think that the soccer ball is permently attached to his feet! He is an awesome kid...grades are excellent, passion for soccer and life in general. In fact sometimes I think his cousins actually tire out from playing with him...Kevin is just the type of person where he really enjoys life and what it brings about. I was thinking the other day (which is really scarry at times lol...) what God has in store for each of our children...hmmm a pretty big questions with no answers yet. Will they get married and be happy like their father and I? How many children will they have? Or will Sarah Jane travel the world and become a photographer? Only God knows and He has entrusted us with these 3 awesome, one of a kind kids...to do our best job in raising them to be outstanding citizins, smart bright people with many different gifts and talents to use. For those of you who have children--enjoy every waking moment of life with them. My Dad once told me "Once you are a parent you never stop being one until you are no longer on this earth--so do the best job you can with your children". My parents may be many miles away (Hawaii--yes they live in Paradise) but they are always there for me when I need them. I love you Mom and Dad! Trust in the Lord for He will take care of you!

Hannah's Meet

Well Hannah once again had a meet and did well. She came up in 3 events: vault 9.0, bars 7.70, floor 7.75 (and finally got her split to the floor) however she went down in beam this time with a 7.50--she froze up on beam...she said she got confused because she started out at the other end and could not mirror image in her mind how to do the routine...a lesson learned the hard way. She missed qualifying for Nationals by 1 point...she needed a 33.0 and she received a 31.95. Go get them next time Hannah!! she still has 3 more meets to qualify for Nationals....SO PLEASE KEEP HER IN YOUR PRAYERS. Thanks and have a great night.

Recently Hannah celebrated her 8th birthday...WOW I can't believe how time goes by so fast. She has really done so much in one year...especially in her gymnastics goals. She keeps a gymnastics goal journal and checks off as she achieves her goals (and that was her idea!) She was excited to open this gift--from her cousins--a new leo! We of course had lots of cake (so many people I ended up making a chocolate cake which had to have pink sprinkles on it, angel food cake, choc.chip cookie bar and jello.) We had lots of fun enjoying each others company. There are 10 cousins altogether and they have gotton very close--so they had a great time. I just can't believe how the time goes by and another year has pasted. I encourage everyone to really enjoy the time that you have with each other--that is a lost art--people are in too much of a rush and hurry all the time. I even try to slow down while I am doing errands, driving kids to where they are suppose to go...but take time to sip a hot chocolate along the way!

the cool "grips" bag

Well I wanted to share with all of you out there on the big wide world of cyberspace....I made this little bag for our daughter's gymnastic grips (they use them on uneven bars). She got so many compliments on it. I am thinking about selling them for 10.00 but making them bigger I was thinking about 10"x 9" or 12"x 11". Right now it holds 1 pair of grips and grip bands...but as she gets older she will need to carry 2 pair all the time in case one pair rips in competion. We have a pair in spare right now...but I was testing the bag out first--so that is why it turned out small about 8" x 7"...but I really need to make them bigger. I love to create things--and really enjoy sewing. My grandmother taught me to sew when I was about 8 or 9 years old....but I can't seem to remember what my first sewing project was...hmmm I must be getting that Momma Brain! hahahaha

Sooooo.....

If any of you would like a gripper bag for your daughter I can make them for 10.00 plus shipping. I can use any material and they are lined with sewn in corners to have nice finish tailored look. Plus that fact that they are washable too!! Which is very nice because the inside will get all chalky from the grips over time. Like I said--Hannah loves it. However if your daughter is not into gymnastics--they make great bags to use for on the go trips--snacks, toys, makeup etc...the ideas are endless. I am making another one for our other daughter S.J.--and she plans on using it to take all her Puppie in my Pockets to her brother's soccer games and sister's gymnastic meets. (she is only 5 years old and needs to have some entertainment). Well I hope that you enjoy the pics & Happy sewing to all of you out there.

I just wanted to share with you what I made for the kindergarten room at our local school where my kids attend. They are handmade out of felt and scraps of different materials. They work well for the children when they are using a felt board. The children can have creative play with them. Believe it or not they did not take long to make and the sewing part I would do after the kids were in bed and I was watching the news. Enjoy! I had lots of fun making these...and now the kindergarten kids are having even more fun playing with them.

Hannah's Gymnastics Meet

Well Hannah "rocks" at her first gymnastic meet. Here are some photos for you all to enjoy. We are really proud of her and how much passion she has for the sport. She was all smiles when she came in 3rd place on the vault, 3rd place on beam and 6th place on All-Around in her age division. (My Mommy Moment of Bragging) And she qualified for states!!! Yippee!! Hi there
this is my first time blogging. I am a stay at mom of 3 wonderful kids. (I am their mom--so I do think that they are awesome, wonderful, great, etc.) I wanted to start this blog so I could connect to other moms around the world. I have personnally read so many blogs that are just truly inspiring to me. It gives me hope that I am actually doing the right thing with staying home. I am married to my best friend--Craig. He is well my partner in everything. Craig is a super Dad to our children. He works hard at being the breadwinner and also being there for me and the kids. He is a meat cutter and works for his Dad's butcher shop. We have a son Kevin, who is 11 years old. Kevin loves playing soccer--and his dream is to play pro one day. He has been playing since he is 5 years old and now plays on a travel team (which his Dad is head coach). I would say that he is an all-american boy. Our daughter Hannah, who just turned 8 is our gymnastist. She has exciled so quickly in the world of gymnastics. She also started when she was 5 years old and now has made the team and is currently level 4. Hannah loves school and pretty much is our girly-girl. Our youngest just turned 5. Her name is Sarah Jane and is a very busy preschooler. She starts kindergarten this coming fall.

Has anyone else had this problem???? Your children grow-up too fast!! It seems like just yesterday when Kevin was going to Kindergarten and now is in 6th grade! I can not believe it. Life really goes by so fast...so please take time to enjoy it....oh boy I sound like my mother. Oh my parents now live in the beautiful state of Hawaii. I wish I were there right now. PA has snow and it only is 20 degrees outside. BRRR--too cold for me.
